A Heritage Partnership with the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame & Museum, Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate, the Museums of Burlington & the Museums of Mississauga
The Canadian Golf Hall of Fame &  Museum, Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate, the Museums of Burlington (Joseph Brant Museum  & Ireland House), and the Museums of Mississauga (Bradley Museum and Benares Historic House), have collaborated together on an exciting project called The Kings Highway Tour which will enlighten local residents and visitors about the heritage along Lakeshore Road or Highway 2.

The Kings Highway Tour
The Kings Highway Tour will be a self-guided audio CD that will capture the essence of Canadian history including many of the significant elements of the development of Ontario from the Aboriginal and original settlement (Joseph Brant House and Bradley Museum) to World War I (Benares) to the 20th century industry (Oakville Museum at Erchless) to the social development told through the game of golf's development (the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame and Museum). This audio CD is also currently being developed for the purpose of heritage wellness and education by also engaging in this via a nice walk, hike and or bike. With so much heritage and history to see The Kings Highway Tour Audio CD will feature built, cultural and natural histories told in an enlightening and entertaining fashion.

Behind the scenes
In the spring of 2005, The Kings Highway Team received a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation for the production of the CD, and have been working thoroughly on this exciting heritage partnership. In the summer of 2005 The Kings Highway Team met with Dr. Michael  Collins, Dean, School of Animation, Arts and Design and Andrew Smyk, Interactive Multimedia Student Coordinator, School of Applied Computing and Engineering Sciences, at Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. This turned into a successful partnership with the School of Applied Computing and Engineering Sciences and over the fall of 2005 students from this program created a website to complete the audio CD, as well as the official logo. This partnership with Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning and the four core museums in Burlington, Oakville & Mississauga has been a wonderful opportunity for all and will be an incredible tool for local residents and visitors to find out more information on the Heritage of The King Highway. Currently, the Kings Highway Team are in the thick of the production of the audio CD with plans to launch this in the spring.
