Erchless Estate Gardens & Grounds
The beautiful Erchless gardens have been carefully restored to their historic appearance from photographs taken in the early 1900s. The four-acre grounds are an important part of Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate and are beautifully maintained by the Town of Oakville Recreation and Culture Department. Pick up a map at the Oakville Museum and stroll through the grounds to explore the many points of historical interest. Some features date to the mid-1800s. Be sure to snap a photo of the stunning rock garden, originally designed and built for Emelda Beeler Chisholm (1873-1951) in the 1920s. |
